SLEEPWELL FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

A mattress pad supports your body, protects the mattress and prolongs its lifetime. It is easy and inexpensive to replace a mattress pad, should that be necessary. The covers of all mattress pads are washable. If your bed has two mattresses, a mattress pad loses the uncomfortable gap between the two sides.

Latex is a natural material made of the sap of the rubber tree, and which is very durable and flexible. It is perfect as an interlayer between springs and fabric. The latex of Sleepwell mattresses is specially treated, washed and dried. That makes the material breathable, soft and durable.

Modern foam rubber is an excellent material for mattresses as it is breathable, maintains its form and does not absorb odours.

Within the last 10-20 years, foam rubber has been developed to be so good that it has become one of the most used cushioning materials in the world.

Foam rubber is especially suitable for persons prone to allergic diseases as the material is highly unsuitable for dust mites. The foam rubber used in Sleepwell mattresses has been approved by the Estonian Allergy Association.

A mattress should be turned over because the materials need to be restored. Many Sleepwell mattresses are two-sided: the woolly side keeps the mattress warm in winter and the cottony side breathes well in summer. So we recommend you turn your mattress over once after every 6 months.

Turning a mattress over regularly considerably prolongs its lifetime!!

The easiest solution is to by two different mattresses and a mattress pad to cover them. That ensures both with the mattress they prefer, and a mattress pad does not lessen the properties of a spring mattress.

This is also a good solution for couches. You may clamp them together or connect them with a bed head and cover with a single mattress pad.

A box spring helps bring out the best properties of a mattress and ensures a long lifetime for it. We recommend a box spring with 25-63 mm gaps between strips.

Do not choose a veneer or chipboard bedplate as these will not let the mattress breathe

A mattress of 100% latex or foam rubber should have a box spring with at least 28 strips.

Even the highest quality materials begin to wear off eventually, and our body excretes about 0.5 litres of liquids per night. Therefore, we recommend getting a new mattress, on the average, after every 5-7 years.

Do not choose a mattress based on a catalogue photo, instead, go to the store and try it! Ask the sales assistant to explain the properties of and differences between beds and mattresses.

When trying a mattress, take the same position you are in when trying to go to sleep at night.

Before making a final decision, be sure to try several different beds.

Choose the bed in which you feel really comfortable!
